Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola has said that it is worrisome to witness businesses shutting down due to temporary closure at the borders.
He made the statement during a plenary session at the Senate while contributing to a motion moved by Senator Adamu Aliero (representing Kebbi).
The senator while speaking said he's greatly perturbed for his people, the people Badagry who are closest to the border between Nigeria and the Benin Republic, he then declared the closure as a matter of urgency and importance and must be addressed immediately to avoid gross loss in the Nigeria market.
He vehemently advocated for a lasting solution as it is affecting businesses across the country.
He also called on appropriate agencies to take immediate actions in tackling smuggling and other related issues which is the top cause of the closure.
