06 May RAMADAN: SEN ADEOLA CALLS FOR PRAYER FOR INCOMING ADMINISTRATIONS AND SECURITY
As the Muslim community worldwide begins the month long Ramadan religious obligation, the chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) has urged all faithful to pray for the smooth and effective take off of incoming administrations at state and federal level after the relatively peaceful 2019 General Elections in Nigeria as well as security of the nation.
In a message to the Muslim faithful, Senator Adeola said all adherents of the Islamic faith should use the month long fasting period to reflect on their lives and the true practice of the religion that preaches peace, good neighbourliness, brotherly love and non violence evangelism.
“We must continually pray for our dear nation to continue on the path of peace, unity and progress. The fasting period presents yet another opportunity for communal supplication to Almighty Allah for solution to our national challenges and for wisdom for all leaders to do the right things in the sight of God and man” he stated.
Senator Adeola said he is hopeful that as Nigeria marks yet another milestone in its democratic journey during this Ramadan, prayers to Almighty Allah, the sacrifices of fasting by religious groups and diligent hard work will make Nigeria great again.
