16 Dec SENATOR ADEOLA CONGRATULATES LAGOS APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE
The senator representing the largest senatorial district in Nigeria, Lagos West and chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, Senator Solomon Adeola has congratulated the newly elected governorship candidate of APC in Lagos State, Hon Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all members of APC at the party’s direct primaries saying the event marked a turning point in the drive for internal democracy in political parties in the state and Nigeria.
In a message after the announcement of the result where Sanwo-Olu polled almost a million votes, the senator said that his election through a direct primary is a landmark in the history of the party in ensuring participatory democracy where the party members are giving the opportunity to exercise the right of determining who flies the party’s flag adding that Lagos State has though the successful conduct of the primaries at this level demonstrated leadership in the development of our democracy.
Senator Adeola who was the only aspirant cleared by the APC to contest for the direct primary of APC in the Lagos West Senatorial in the forthcoming 2019 election said that the election of Sanwo-Olu demonstrate the supremacy of the party and the people in our democratic process stressing that in his over 20 years active participation in electoral politics he is an apostle of party supremacy as well as populist politics.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the APC candidate to continue to take Lagos State to greater heights through faithful implementation of a development master plan for the mega city of the state.
