16 Dec LAGOS WEST PRIMARY: SENATOR ADEOLA EXPRESSES SATISFACTION
Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) the chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content have expressed satisfaction with the direct primary mode of selection of the party candidate as it afford the majority of party members opportunity to partake directly in the democratic process.
Speaking at the end of the primary for National Assembly aspirants for the 2019 General Election at his Ward D, Egbe-Idimu, Alimosho, the senator stated that the system adopted by APC in Lagos will strengthen internal democracy adding that the fear of disruption expressed about the direct primary is misplaced.
“ As you can see, in spite of the thousand of party members that turned out for the exercise in this ward, there is no disruption or violence of any kind. It was more like a festival where party stalwarts and members rubbed shoulder in a manner reminiscent of a wedding party with popular aspirants easily discernable without malpractices” he stated .
Senator Adeola who received overwhelming support from party members in thousands said he will never take his constituents for granted and that is the sole reason why he is always returned to represent the party at various levels of the legislature in Nigeria adding that he will always appreciate his leaders and constituents for the privilege.
The primary election whose results for Lagos West is being collated for aspirants was witnessed by Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, the APC state organizing Secretary and Hon. Kehinde Joseph, the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Housing.
